What the study clocks show

A 2013 UC-II study ran for 120 days. The 2025 trial of combined hydrolysed collagen and UC-II measured outcomes at 2, 6 and 12 weeks, then found no significant advantage over placebo at 12 weeks. Studies of collagen peptides have also used multi-week protocols. These timelines describe research design, not an individual guarantee.

Why “you should feel it by week X” is too neat

Trials measure group averages on specific scales. People vary, symptoms vary and placebo groups can improve too. A product can also differ from the trial ingredient in source, processing, dose or formulation. So the number of weeks in a study cannot be turned into a countdown for a shopper.

If you decide to try a supplement

Follow the product label, keep other routine changes in mind and decide in advance what meaningful change would look like for you. Stop relying on a supplement as a substitute for medical advice if pain is severe, worsening or persistent.
